Invisalign Teen - The blue dot

If you're embarrassed by your smile and you have always wanted straight teeth…
If you want braces, but don't want anyone to notice you're wearing them…
If you're a teenager and you want a perfect smile, without having to wear ugly metal braces…
then Invisalign Teen may be the solution!

Metal wires, brackets, rubber bands and head-gear are all things that are associated with braces, but these can now be a thing of the past with Invisalign Teen...
A revolutionary orthodontic treatment using virtually invisible braces that are custom made, fit seamlessly into your lifestyle and work in a similar way to adult Invisalign.

Invisalign Teen has been designed to address the unique needs of teenagers. The aligners (braces) provide a way of straightening teeth without wires, and still accommodate for the continuing and natural eruption of teenagers' permanent teeth.

Invisalign Teen aligners have also been designed with two blue dot indicators, these will fade over the two week period to indicate that the aligners should now be replaced. This ensures that you will have worn the aligners for the correct amount of time before swapping to the next set.

Dr Kumar has over seven years of experience in treating both adults and teenagers with Invisalign and understands how the movement of teeth vary in people of different ages.

Reduced Maintenance

With no metal brackets or wires that need to be adjusted, you spend less time at the dentist, leaving you free to do the things you like best!

Invisible

Because the aligners are clear, they are hardly noticeable, you can smile, laugh, talk and continue your life as normal, without feeling self conscious or anxious about your smile.

Comfort and Safety

Aligners have no sharp or metal edges, but instead have a smooth surface, this reduces the risk of mouth ulcers, abrasions and sports injuries. The aligners are custom made for you, so they fit perfectly around each of your teeth, so playing an instrument or sports activities is not a challenge.

Indicators

Invisalign Teen aligners have been designed with two blue dot indicators, these will fade over the two week period to indicate that the aligners should now be replaced. This ensures that you will have worn the aligners for the correct amount of time before swapping to the next set.

Removable

Aligners are easily and discreetly removable, so you can eat and drink what you like throughout your treatment without any need to worry about food getting caught in wires!

Healthy

As the aligners are completely removable this ensures that brushing and flossing can continue as normal to ensure healthy gums and teeth. Therefore Invisalign is a much healthier option than traditional metal braces.

Exclusively designed for Teens

The Invisalign technology takes into account the fact that your teeth are still growing, therefore the aligners allow for the growth of new teeth.

What parents need to know

How does Invisalign work?

You will have a consultation with Dr Kumar he will assess your case, take digital X-rays, photos and impressions of your teeth. Using these, he will map out your treatment plan using 3D computerised software and show you your entire Invisalign treatment from beginning to end.

Invisalign Teen progressively straightens your teeth using a series of custom fit aligners.
Each aligner repositions and prepares your teeth into the desired position ready for the next aligner in the sequence. Aligners are changed approximately every two weeks (unless otherwise specified by Dr Kumar) or when the blue dot indicators have faded. For best results you are expected to wear your aligners all the time, only removing them to eat, brush or floss.

During the treatment you will visit Dr Kumar on Harley Street or at our Liverpool Street practice approximately every eight weeks, during your appointment he will assess the progress of your treatment and discuss any follow up needs or queries.

How long will it take?

Treatment length will vary depending on your individual case but the average Invisalign treatment is between 12 – 18 months.

How do parents know you're wearing the aligners?

On each aligner there are two blue dot wear-indicators, which fade over the two week period to show how long you have been wearing that set.

What if you lose/ break a set of aligners?

We understand that as a teenager life can get stressful, so we will provide you with up to six individual replacement aligners free of charge.

How much does it cost?

Invisalign Teen usually costs less than adult Invisalign treatment, however this depends on the severity of each case.
